What is the Seniors – Projeto 74 app?
It is the installable version of the Seniors platform. Once installed, the app appears on your phone's home screen with its own icon, opens in full screen (without the browser bar), and works even with little or no connection thanks to the service worker.
Installing is optional: you can keep using the website normally from your browser.
How do I install it on Android (Chrome)?
Step by step:
- Open
www.projeto74.com.br/seniors/in Chrome on Android. - Tap the page and stay on it for about 30 seconds (Chrome only offers installation after a minimum of interaction).
- Tap the “Install App” button that appears in the site's top bar.
- Confirm in the Chrome dialog and you're done: the icon will be created on the home screen.
Tip: if the button hasn't shown up yet, tap somewhere on the page, wait about 30 seconds, and reload. Chrome may also show the install prompt on its own at the bottom bar.
How do I install it on Android (Firefox)?
Step by step:
- Open
www.projeto74.com.br/seniors/in Firefox on Android. - Tap the ⋮ (three-dot) Firefox menu.
- Tap “Add app to Home screen”.
- Confirm and the icon will be created on the home screen.
Firefox doesn't use the site's install button: installation is done through the browser's own menu, so the “Install App” button may not appear — that's normal.
I have a Xiaomi / POCO / Redmi phone and nothing happens when installing (Firefox). What can I do?
Xiaomi phones (including POCO and Redmi) block home screen shortcut creation by default, per app. Firefox cannot detect or request this permission, so the installation fails silently. To fix it:
- Open Settings → Apps → Manage apps → Firefox.
- Tap Other permissions.
- Enable “Create desktop shortcuts” (allow).
If you can't find that option: Settings → Privacy protection → Other permissions → Permissions tab → Home screen shortcuts → Firefox → Always allow. Then go back to Firefox and try again through the ⋮ menu.
How do I install it on iPhone / iPad (Safari)?
Step by step:
- Open
www.projeto74.com.br/seniors/in Safari. - Tap the Share button (square with an up arrow, on the bottom bar).
- Scroll to “Add to Home Screen”.
- Tap Add in the top-right corner.
On the iPhone the site's “Install App” button doesn't appear — installation is done exclusively through Safari's Share menu.
Does the app work offline?
Partially. The app shell (styles, icons, and the home page) is stored on your phone, so the app opens quickly even with a weak connection. Pages that depend on the server (such as login and caregiver data) need an internet connection.
I installed it, but the app opens in the browser instead of full screen. What now?
Check that you installed the right item from the browser. In Chrome, use the “Install App” button or the “Install app” item in the ⋮ menu — don't use “Add to Home screen” as a plain shortcut. In Firefox, the item is “Add app to Home screen” (with the word “app”). If it still opens in the browser, remove the shortcut and install it again following the steps above.
The “Install App” button doesn't appear on the site. What should I do?
The button only appears when the browser confirms the site is installable. Try:
- Make sure you are on the
/seniors/page (the root landing page has no button). - Tap somewhere on the page and stay there for about 30 seconds.
- Reload the page (pull to refresh or tap the reload icon).
- In Chrome, check whether the ⋮ menu offers “Install app”.
If it still doesn't show up, use the browser menu: in Chrome, ⋮ → “Install app”; in Firefox, ⋮ → “Add app to Home screen”.
I still have questions. How can I reach you?
Go to the Seniors platform and use the contact button available in the app, or talk to the coordinator responsible for your region.
